Step back into the 16th century with a tour through the tower! Explore the rooms and colorful images that tell the story life in coastal south Wexford...
Tour the tower of Sigginstown Castle and hear about 500+ years of history and the recent renovations to make it live again!
Visitors meet in the new Coach House Cafe and then enter the attached 17th century house which has also been renovated to a private residence. The renovation adventures have been filmed on RTE “The Great House Revival” and prior on HGTV “House Hunters International”.
The tower has six levels reached by a steep stone staircase with sturdy handrails on each side. Visitors get a chance to rest and visit at each level. Multiple floors gave been colorfully painted with examples from historical patterns.
Enter on Norman Way gate next to the glass sign (use Google Maps to look for “Sigginstown Castle”.) Please do not use gate by tower or "cul-de-sac" road. Look for yellow parking signs. Cafe and Grounds open at noon.
All animals must be kept on leash at all times and are not allowed on the tour. The electric fence is live - please take care.
Cost: 10 Euros Adult, 8 Euros for Children/Students/Seniors and groups of 6 people or more. Booking in Advance advised during Heritage Week
Gravel on driveways and parking is in the field. Cafe is accessible as is the Big House where the tour starts for first 20 minutes. There are three steps into the tower and another 10-15 minutes of the tour. Then we climb the stairs one flight at a time. If people wish to take the first part of the tour and not continue they may descend and wait in the Coach House Cafe to enjoy a cup of tea or just relax!
