Letterkenny Irish Wheelchair Association Charity Shop has partnered with Donegal County Museum to present "Selling the Past", an event created especially for Heritage Week.

'Selling the Past' is an interactive exhibition of donated items that have links to the Donegal's history. People are invited to find the items around the store with tags attached, and learn something about the history and people of Donegal in years gone by.

"We have embroidered cloth that connects with the cottage industry of sewing and lacemaking that used to exist in Donegal," says Taryn de Vere, organiser of the event, "a vintage glass tells the story of the founder of McDaid's Football Special, and a fireside chair connects to the tradition of visiting and hearing poems and songs. Each of the pieces has a story that connects it with Donegal and how things used to be. We hope people coming in will enjoy learning a little about our local heritage as they shop."

People are invited to attend any time from Tuesday, 16th (launch at 12pm) to Saturday, 20th. We are open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday.
