Recital on the 49-bell Carillon of St Colman's Cathedral in Cobh

As part of this year’s Heritage Week celebrations, join us for a special guest carillon recital at the iconic Cobh Cathedral. The performance will be given by Eddy Mariën, City Carillonneur of Mechelen and Leuven in Belgium..

A senior member of the teaching faculty at the Royal Carillon School (Mechelen), Eddy regularly features on the international circuit as recitalist, lecturer and teacher. He is considered one of the leading exponents of carillon performance. As a carillon composer, his style is influenced by classical music, pop and jazz.

Experience the unique sound of the cathedral’s historic carillon in this one-of-a-kind musical event that celebrates both cultural and musical heritage.
Particularly good listening places are the Garden of Remembrance across the road from the main Cathedral entrance and the car park to the north of the Cathedral. The public can view the instrument being played live on a screen within the Cathedral.
