- Co. Carlow
Rathanna Irish Country Women's Association and members of the community would like to invite all interested to meet for a casual meet up to discuss your memories of Rathanna N.S. (now Rathanna Community Hall) and your school days there.
Rathanna N.S. in rural Co. Carlow was founded in 1883 and was closed in 1969 approx. Our aim is to gather photographic, written and oral information from past pupils of the school and members of the community. This information may be used to produce a written and/or digital document in the future.
This event during Heritage Week is just the starting point of gathering information about the history of this important building, the people who worked and studied there and the cultural practices within the school.
The event will take the format of informal meet up on Sunday, 14th August 2022 from 10am until noon. It is being hosted for all interested in sharing information or learning more about this important part of our community.
We will of course be providing the obligatory cupán tae to encourage reminiscing about days gone by!
We look forward to welcoming you on the day.
If you have photographs/documents you would like to share in advance of the day please email these to firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively if you would like to share photographs/documents on the day we would be delighted to take a copy of them.
