We present two exhibitions at the Hall of the Red Earl.
The first, "Language Landscape Migration" consists of 19 pieces each 20" x 20" on those themes. These are depictions of our members’ varied responses to the themes Some of the pieces focus on one of the themes, others include all three. The works demonstrate many aspects of textile art including appliqué, digital printing, piecing, quilting, embroidery, original batiks and fabric painting.
The second exhibition “Recycled” is our members’ response to a European Quilt Association (EQA) challenge to create a textile piece from recycled fabrics. From denim jeans and jackets to delicate embroidered linens, each beautiful piece re-uses old fabric to tell a story.
And if you would like to give patchwork and quilting a go we will host sessions on Wednesday, August 17th and Wednesday, August 24th from 10am to 4.30pm where you can try your hand at sewing a simple coaster. It may be the start of a great adventure for you, As space is limited we will have a max of three people at a time for the sewing sessions.
