Join the Native Woodland Trust on Sunday, August 17th, 2025, for a family-friendly guided walk led by Aaron Gallagher. Meeting at 10:30 AM at Poulaphouca Lake Parking, the group will walk to Bevan's Wood — a unique nature reserve dedicated to native woodland restoration.

Formerly an Ash and Oak plantation, Bevan's Wood is now a living example of rewilding and assisted natural regeneration. Visitors will learn about the ongoing restoration efforts, explore biodiversity ponds, and see scientific projects that showcase nature’s healing power. Along the way, discover ancient and mystical trees, and learn about the native plants and animals that thrive in this protected refuge.

After returning to the carpark, participants are invited to enjoy a small picnic with tea, coffee, and biscuits.

This free event is open to families and anyone interested in Ireland’s natural heritage, conservation, and woodland ecology.
