Online Talk: The Kilkenny Traditional Shopfront Signage Project

As part of the Digital Repository of Ireland's monthly coffee morning series, join PhD Researcher and consultant Dee Maher Ring for an exploration of the Kilkenny Traditional Shopfront Signage Project.

This collection of photographs are part of a research project commissioned by the Heritage Office at Kilkenny County Council to complement Kilkenny County Library's existing digital collection, Kilkenny Shopfronts through the Ages. The collection has been fully ingested into the Digital Repository of Ireland and are now available on open-access for all to view.

Taken in 2021, the shopfronts featured in this collection are located in the townlands of Gardens, Pennesfatherslot, Dukesmeadows, Collegepark and Highhays in Kilkenny. The collection includes additional notes and links compiled by Dee Maher Ring from a variety of sources (including the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage and the Kilkenny Archaeological Society) provide resources for further research.
