24 August, 12pm - 1:30pm

  • Dunmore Mass Path
  • Dunmore
  • Co. Kilkenny

A bi-lingual ramble along Dunmore Mass Path exploring history, biodiversity agus an Ghaeilge. Join Heritage Specialist Pat Reid and Artist Róisín Sheehy on a ramble along Dunmore Mass Path. Along the way, Pat will talk about the heritage of mass paths in Ireland while Róisín will read excerpts from Cín Lae Amhlaoibh, a diary written by Amhlaoibh Ó Súilleabháin in Kilkenny between the years 1827 to 1835 which gives insight into life in rural Ireland in the early 19th century. Be inspired by the mass path to write your own diary entry along the way.
Siúlóid dhátheangach ar Chosán Aifrinn an Dúin Mhóir áit a bpléifear an stair, an bhithéagsúlacht le blúiríní Ghaeilge. Bígí linn nuair a thabharfaidh an speisialtóir oidhreachta Pat Reid agus an t-ealaíontóir Róisín Sheehy ar shiúlóid muid ar Chosán Aifrinn an Dúin Mhóir. Labhróidh Pat faoi oidhreacht na gcosán Aifrinn in Éirinn agus léifidh Róisín sleachta as Cín Lae Amhlaoibh, dialann a scríobh Amhlaoibh Ó Súilleabháin i gCill Chainnigh idir 1827 agus 1835 ina thugtar léargas ar shaol tuaithe na hÉireann ag tús an 19ú haois. Faigh spreagadh ón gcosán Aifrinn agus scríobh do shliocht dialainne féin le linn na siúlóide.

Meeting Point: Car park of Dunmore Church of the Most Holy Trinity. This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather. Immerse yourself in the era of the mass paths by leaving your phone behind. Please bring a notebook and pen to partake in some creative writing along the way.
Pointe Cruinnithe: Carrchlós Séipéil Dhúin Mhóir. Is imeacht faoin aer é seo, agus iarrtar ort a bheith réitithe don aimsir. Tum isteach i ré na gcosán Aifrinn trí do ghuthán a fhágáil i do dhiaidh. Tabhair leat leabhar nótaí agus peann chun páirt a ghlacadh sa scríbhneoireacht chruthaitheach le linn na siúlóide.
