Macroom Castle and Gate Lodge: Symbol, Significance and Future Vision
Macroom Castle Gate Lodge sits as a symbol of the town, looking both inwards toward the site of the Medieval Castle and outwards to the town, a linkage between worlds. This Heritage Week talk explores the history and significance of this important structure and shares the vision for its imminent conservation and interpretation as part of Ireland's Historic Town's Initiative.
This event will be launched by Macroom MD Cathaoirleach, Cllr Michael Looney and will be held on Wednesday 20th August 2025 from 1.00 - 2.00 pm at The Gate Lodge, Macroom Town Square with the following speakers :
