To celebrate Heritage Week, Ciarán Wallace, the Deputy Director of Beyond 2022 (the research project which created the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland) will lead a talk in The Library of Killruddery House (a Member of the Historic Houses of Ireland), giving an insight on the destruction and virtual rebirth of the Public Record Office of Ireland.

During this talk, Ciarán will give a general overview of the wonderful 19th century archive, describe the destruction and what was lost, talk about how his research project works to repair the losses, and use examples from around Bray and Greystones, including some records from The Meath/Brabazon Archives held at Killruddery. The Meath/Brabazon archives are part of a private collection which are only available to view by the general public by appointment.

This talk is hosted by Killruddery Head Guide, Barbara Cafferky and she will hold a short Q&A with Ciarán immediately after the talk.
