Local Sligo Stories

We received a grant in recent years from the Heritage Council to create Local Sligo Stories.
The project was aimed to record & document stories of older people from Sligo & that grew up in & around the location of our Arts Centres location at the Nest, Custom House Quay, Sligo.

Our first recording was with John Mullaney.
One of the only occupants of a home in the main street of Sligo.

John has recently passed away & we feel that we have a piece of magic, recorded that tells of growing up in Sligo in the early 1900's to how the town has changed.

With this project, on John's second Anniversary on the 20th of August 2023, we feel to launch the video & recording at an event where we listen & remember such a remarkable character of Sligo town.

Reminding of the place we call call home & how we're all connections, as he said himself.
