Lecture title: “The Connaught Rangers Mutiny in India, June 1920, and some local involvement.” The 1st Battalion of the Connaught Rangers mutinied in India in June 1920. Much has been written and discussed about this event. Many men from all parts of the West of Ireland were involved. For some it was the end of their life, and for others that were involved, it was the end of their army careers. Many different personalities got caught up in the five days in June which later became known as the Connaught Rangers Mutiny. Two local men, John Daly from Aughrim, and Patrick Hynes born in Laurencetown were involved.
