Kerry's Designed Landscapes

14 August, 1pm - 2pm

  • Kerry County Museum
  • Ashe Memorial Hall, Denny Streeet, Tralee
  • Co. Kerry

Kerry's country houses with their associated demesnes and parklands may be centuries old, but they are part of a living cultural heritage. These landscapes of rolling parklands, high rubble stone walls, kitchen gardens and orchards, streams and waterfalls, avenues of stately trees, follies, designed views and historic houses, are part of our everyday environment.

This talk by Kerry County Council's Conservation Officer Victoria McCarthy will cover some of Kerry's best and least known designed landscapes combining maps, pictures, and analysis to unravel the Kingdom's cultural heritage.
