The Historic Elements of Skerries Walking Tour
Meet at Skerries library Strand Street,
Skerries is one of the most notable and historic towns in Fingal, and its history is written into the streetscape of the town, in the form of Historic Street Furniture, such as timeworn street kerbing, historic post boxes and surviving lamp posts from yesteryear. Fingal Heritage Office, in conjunction with Archaeology Plan Heritage Consultancy, are now endeavouring to record, preserve and highlight as much of this street¬ level history as possible.
So, Join Archaeology Plan’s John Cronin for a walking tour of Skerries, and find out more about its historic fabric. We’d also love to hear from you. Add your knowledge, memories and photos to this heritage project.
No need to book in advance: all are welcome!
If persons would like to contribute to the project we would be delighted. Details on it can be found at https://www.fingal.ie/historic-street-elements-audit
