The Church is a cut stone cruciform building best described as gothic revival in style and was named after the patron saint of Clonfert St. Brendan. Memorials within the building include white marble plaques to the Clancarty (Trench) family along with memorials to the Persse family of Roxborough and the Burke family of Ballydugan.
Today St. Brendan's has been restored for use as a beautiful public library by Galway County Council who took responsibility for the building in 1991. The Library opened to the public in January 2001.
