Guided Tour of Historic Sites of Buttevant

The guided tour will start at St Mary's Church and the Franciscan Friary dating from 1250, and proceed to visit the medieval town which received its charter in 1234 and Buttevant Castle, dating from 1206. The foundations of the town, friary & castle will be explained. The tour will end at St John's Church where the world's first steeplechase was held in 1752. The tour will take about an hour.
