Genealogy Consultation

To celebrate Heritage Week 2025 Mayo County Library Service in partnership with the North Mayo Heritage Centre and the South Mayo Family Research Centre are delighted to announce a free genealogy event on Friday the 22nd of August at Castlebar Library. The library will host free genealogy consultations between 10am and 4pm on the day.

Ger Delaney and Brendan Walsh, family history researchers at the two Co. Mayo centres, will be in attendance to help you on a one-to-one basis to get started with your family history research, or to assist with any questions you may have about your own research. The North Mayo Heritage Centre and the South Mayo Family Research Centre are the two Irish Family History Foundation accredited research centres in Co. Mayo. Together they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this free event.
