Limerick City & County Council is delighted to announce this FREE Biodiversity & Climate Action Course as part of our 'nature' event series for National Heritage Week. This course will be run by horticulturist and environmentalist, Aoife Munn and will cover many topics including:
- Low maintenance planting that is also great for biodiversity & climate change
- Creating habitats for wildlife
- Planting combinations for the seasons
- Growing your own from fruit trees to veg
- Dealing with rainwater locally using nature based solutions
- Creating a more circular economy
- Waste Reduction
- Composting and much more...
The course will be combination of indoor and outdoor practical activities. Places are limited so must be booked in advance.
This course is suitable for adults who want to improve their area for biodiversity, take steps for climate action through enhancing the natural environment, reduce the effects of climate change and help build a more sustainable community. It is particularly of interest to Tidy Towns Groups, (Wo)Men's Shed Groups and Environmental Groups but is also open to individuals who would like to make a difference.
A light lunch will be provided on the day, please let us know if you have any dietry requirements when booking.
