For generations, Irish households spun sheep's wool into yarn to knit jumpers, socks and other garments to clothe their families. Today, Irish wool has become a waste product with consumers preferring synthetic fabrics or imported merino wool. Handspinning lets us produce our own clothes with local materials, while also having fun with this creative and meditative hobby.
