Clare Community Archaeology, Kilfenora Development Ltd, and The Burren Centre
- Burren Centre
- The Square, Kilfenora
- Co. Clare
The Burren Centre was established as a co-operative interpretative centre in 1975, to provide an introduction to the geology, archaeology, flora and fauna of the Burren region to visitors. It has expanded its offering since, with an audio-visual display and a 'parlour' celebrating the Kilfenora Ceilí band.
As part of Heritage Week, the Burren Centre will offer free access to the exhibition on Sunday, 21st August.
On that day, there will be a number of additional attractions, including a dance demonstration by local Sean-nós dancer Aoibheann Holden, and historic photograph and film footage of Kilfenora and its inhabitants; as well as an exhibition of children's art, representing the High Crosses which Kilfenora is famous for, and which will have been created especially for heritage week.
