Growing Wild in conjunction with Kildare County Council and The Heritage Council are delighted to present a 'Forest School Wild Child Day' as part of Wild Child Day and Heritage Week 2025.
This event 'Forest School Wild Child Day' is for children aged 5 and upwards. Based at Donadea Forest Park, Donadea, Co. Kildare, the children will get a chance to experience some Forest School themed activities, which allows children connect to nature through child led play.

Session Details:
There will be a selection of 3 different activities on offer during this time, children can try-out ALL activities, there will also be an open creative space where free art can take place with clay and paper and drawing materials, and some classic Forest School elements such as free play, nature crafts, mud kitchen play and ropes. Forest School is a long term process, immersing children in nature. These sessions will give your child a flavour of what is invoved in Forest School.

Sessions on offer:
There are three, 1.5-hour workshops over the day:
Group 1: Age range: 5–11-year-olds, time: 10am - 11.30am
Group 2: Age range: 5-11-year-olds, time: 12pm - 1.30pm
Group 3: Age range: 10+ years old, time: 2pm - 3.30pm
* Please only book your child/children into one session only!

Donadea Forest Park: The Forest Park is pay parking on entry, there is a large car park to park in, from which there is a small walk to the Forest School site.
Forest School site: The Icehouse Woodland (past the cafe and the lake). We will have a marker outside to tell you where we are, there will be more info when you book onto the session.
Bring: Please dress your child in suitable clothes & footwear, please also bring rain gear and a drink.
