For the love of Bats
Ballycumber Tidy Towns will host their event at the bridge in Ballycumber. This simple single-arch bridge is enhanced using different stone finishes in its construction. It was erected by the Board of Works as part of its Brosna drainage scheme. Ballycumber Bridge has the second widest arch span in County Offaly. The longest is at Banagher Bridge. Located on the main road to Clara and Tullamore, Ballycumber Bridge plays an important communications role, vital to the village of Ballycumber. It is simply our built heritage. We have been completing bat surveys for a few years, and the event will celebrate and educate locals on our love for bats.
In the lead up to the event we will host 3 mosaic workshops with two local schools and our active age group to design and make individual mosaic tiles to reveal a mural on the day of the event.
The event will be a fun day for children and adults. All are Welcome.
