Exploring our Foundations

20 August, 1pm - 2pm

  • Michael Davitt Museum
  • Straide
  • F26FX37
  • Co. Mayo

‘Exploring our Foundations’ we will explore the contribution Michael Davitt made to the foundation of the Land League and its relationship to the foundation of the Irish State.

A professional conservator will deliver a workshop exploring how protecting and preserving museum artefacts keeps history alive in a tangible way.

Each participant should bring a cutting from a magazine, newspaper or personal letter, the conservator will provide expert demonstrations on how they might be surveyed and conserved for future generations.

We encourage the use of public transport, Bus Éireann – Ballina to Galway Route 52 stops at the Michael Davitt Museum.

The Michael Davitt Museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users. For any special requirements, please contact us—we are here to help make your visit enjoyable and inclusive.
