Explore Salthill House Gardens, Mountcharles, Co. Donegal

Built in the mid-18th century as part of the Conyngham Estate, Salthill House overlooks the majestic Donegal Bay just outside Mountcharles. Over almost four decades, owner Elizabeth Temple has patiently transformed its walled garden into a magical space by concentrating on plants that thrive in its northerly environment. The result is an authentic country house walled garden, skilfully planted with a combination of perennials and shrubs, interspersed with vegetables, herbs and fruit trees.

Salthill House is a member of Historic Houses of Ireland.
