Creating Space for Nature to Function

17 August, 2pm - 4pm

  • Opposite Our Lady of the Snows Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Broadford Village (near Tullylease in North Cork)
  • Broadford
  • Co. Limerick

Our eco-restoration project, in a disused limestone quarry (first worked by the Norman Barons of Desmond in the early 1300s) comprises of 1.7acres. Bequeathed ‘Bradford National School’ in 1852 by local landlord, this site developed as the village dump. In 1998, Broadford Community Council invited a submission from Ted – and endorsed his plan that entitled waste removal (and where possible waste recovery) – and planting of native shrubs and trees of mostly Co. Limerick provenance.

2024 marks our 25th anniversary since volunteers, with glad heart, began works.
