A visit with local naturalist Jim Hurley to the Corock River on Water Heritage Day, to experience and enjoy the waterbody as it flows through Foulksmills Park.
The plan is to fish in the river, to discover the world of wonder that exists on the river bed, see what life forms we discover, and then use our results to estimate what the water quality is likely to be.
The event is free of charge and all are welcome. Getting into ankle-deep water is desirable so wellie boots and a fishing net are recommended. This field trip is preceded by an indoor illustrated, preparatory and introductory talk at 7pm in Wexford Town Library on Thursday, 18 August. Both events are sponsored by LAWPRO, the Local Authority Waters Programme.
