Step into history at Ireland’s last remaining Independent Reading Room, a treasured heritage building gifted to the village by Guinness in 1980. Join a free guided town tour to uncover the Reading Rooms’ fascinating past and its place at the heart of community life.

Discover why Castlebridge is known worldwide as the birthplace of Guinness World Records — celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Hear the famous 1951 story that sparked “the great book,” and learn the unique Castlebridge Inspire Rules for Argument.
Finally, take part in a special record-inspired activity, sharing your own inspiring thought to be added to our heritage wall — a lasting mark of your visit to the birthplace of world-record inspiration. This event will be open to all and will start at 1pm on Saturday 16th at the Reading Rooms.
