Tralee Rowing Club (TRC) is collaborating with Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology and Activity Park for 'Slí na Feirdhis – Way of the Wild Rose & an Aquatic Ecology Guided Walk'.
TRC was supported by 'Community Foundation Ireland' in the preparation of its Biodiversity Action Plan (2022) and is current being funded in the delivery of its Biodiversity Awareness Implementation Project.
TRC Consultant Ecologist, Dr Noel Mulligan will be meeting participants during the walk and afterwards to chat about our local wildlife in the 2 Nature Reserves, 5 Special Areas of Conservation and 3 Special Protection Areas in and around the Tralee Area.
You will learn from Noel who is involved in the protection of our rich wildlife heritage; this is important work that you should know about.
To participate in this event, go to the Heritage Week Event titled 'Slí na Feirdhis – Way of the Wild Rose & an Aquatic Ecology Guided Walk' and book a place. All participants will be able chat with Noel and to put their feet up at the end of the walk and enjoy complementary refreshments in the Lakeside Cafe in the Park. This event has been supported by Local Authorities Water Programme (LAWPRO).
Noel and Alan from the Park will be able to answer any questions you have.
You will be surprised at the work being undertaken by the staff of a number of agencies in protecting terrestrial and aquatic habitats and species.
After the walk it will be nice to sit down, take the weight off you feet and enjoy some free refreshments and learn something of what is being done locally and across the country to protect Wildlife/Biodiversity
