This talk will consider the architecture of St Mary’s in the medieval context and its elevation to a secular collegiate church. It will also consider internal changes in the post-Reformation period through to the present day in the context of Church of Ireland architectural developments over these centuries. It will draw on a variety of sources including the collection of architectural drawings held in the Representative Church Body Library, Vestry Minute Books, Visitation material and other visual records.
Michael O’Neill is an architectural historian and digital archivist.
