'All aboard and full steam ahead from Waterfall' - A heritage event telling the story of the Cork Bandon and South Coast Railway as it pertains to Waterfall.

18 August, 4pm - 6pm

  • Interpretative Sign in Waterfall village and O Sheas Bar
  • Waterfall Village, Waterfall, Cork
  • T12WD27
  • Co. Cork County

Waterfall Railway Station was one of the stations on the West Cork Railway Network and one of the key features of the railway - an outstanding railway bridge, remains an important focal point in Waterfall village. As part of Heritage Week we are proud to unveil an interpretative panel in Waterfall village outlining the history of the Railway and linking this history to the Station in Waterfall. This event will also include a display of memorabilia from Waterfall Station. In keeping with the Heritage Week theme for 2023, this event will also include personal memories/stories from local residents who used the Railway before it closed in the early 1960's. Light refreshments will also be served.
