
3D Scan & 3D Print Heritage Objects - Citizen Science Session
This event is an introduction into the principles of 3D scanning with the free Kiri App and printing a 3D model from the scan.
The session begins at the Maker Space in Mayfair Library. After an introduction, the participants will walk to a nearby heritage site to scan heritage objects, before returning to the Maker Space for printing.
Facilitator: Anne-Karoline Distel is a citizen scientist with a passion for recording heritage. Recently, she has been creating photogrammetry models of heritage objects (grave stones, holy wells, architectural fragments).
Participants will need to be able to use the camera on their smartphone. Please have the Kiri App installed on your phone on arrival.
Limited to 10 participants. Booking is essential.
This event will include a short walk, an umbrella might come in handy, in case it is raining.
