Darraghville has long been a landmark in the area of Kilcoole. Its construction was completed in 1782 by then owner, John Darragh, Lord Mayor of Dublin 1781/82. The House was the presided over by a Walter Crofton Newton until 1899 when the house and lands were sold to the Holy Faith Sisters. The property was used as a boarding school for ten boys, boarded in a large room in the house. The Holy Faith Sisters sold the property in 2017 and Luisne continues to run courses and events here.
