17 August, 11am - 3:45pm

  • Clonalis House
  • Co. Roscommon

Visitors can experience a rich heritage at Clonalis with historical documents, heirlooms, objet d’art, the harp of Turlough O’Carolan, the inauguration stone of the O’Conor Kings and family portraits.

The O’Conor family are direct descendants of the last High Kings of Ireland who were also the traditional kings of Connacht. Clonalis is now home to the 27th generation of O’Conor’s since the last High King of Ireland. We will have on display the recently restored landau coach owned by Charles O’Conor Don (1837- 1906) who recalled in his diaries the coach journey to Dublin which was 120 miles and took up to four days.
