Reflections of Kenmare Bridge

Bridging history.
As part of Heritage week this year we intend creating a series of heritage information panels telling the fascinating story of Kenmare Bridge—from the days of the ferryman, through the original Lansdowne Suspension Bridge (Irelands first suspension bridge) from the 1830’s, to the bridge we know today built in the 1930’s.
A total of 14 full-colour panels (6' x 4') will be installed along the timber fence at Bell Heights, creating an engaging outdoor exhibition for locals and visitors alike.
The aim is to have all the panels installed in time for National Heritage Week in mid-August.
These panels form part of a much larger initiative, linking with the QR-coded Kenmare History Trail, which is transforming the town into a living, open-air museum where visitors can discover the stories behind its streets, buildings and people.
