Irish Heritage in Sound and Story
- Co. Cork City
This digital project showcases a collection of original music inspired by Fota House & Gardens. The work brings together lyrical songs and instrumental pieces, all written and composed by me, drawing on the atmosphere, stories, and character of the estate.
The collection includes tracks such as “The Trees of Fota House,” “The Last Rose of Summer,” and “Dorothy Bell.” Each piece reflects a different aspect of the location, blending melody, lyrics, and instrumental soundscapes to create a personal artistic response to Fota House and its surroundings.
The project aims to offer listeners a creative way to connect with one of Cork’s most recognisable heritage sites. Through music, the work highlights how places can inspire emotion, imagination, and storytelling, and how heritage can continue to influence modern artistic expression. I also used modern creative tools, including AI‑assisted techniques, to help shape and bring these songs to life, allowing the stories and atmosphere of Fota House to be expressed in a fresh, contemporary way.
By sharing this project during Heritage Week, I hope to give audiences a new way to experience Fota House through sound. The project celebrates Irish heritage through original music and demonstrates how creativity can bring new life to familiar places. All songs and albums featured in this project are available on Spotify and all major music platforms.
This project forms part of a wider collection of heritage‑inspired albums I have released, including works based on Spike Island, Derrynane House, Bantry House, Charles Fort, etc
