Are you planning an event for National Heritage Week 2025? Whether you're a seasoned organiser or just starting out, we have something special lined up to help you prepare, connect, and get inspired. This May, the Heritage Council is hosting two exciting Learning and Networking Days designed specifically for event organisers like you!
These free training events offer an incredible opportunity to enhance your skills, share ideas, and network with other heritage enthusiasts. With one event held in person and the other taking place online, you can choose the format that suits you best—or attend both for the full experience.
What to Expect
This year’s theme is "Exploring Our Foundations", and it’s all about diving deeper into the stories, traditions, and places that ground our communities. The training days will guide you in creating engaging and meaningful events aligned with this theme. You’ll learn practical skills in sessions led by experts who’ll equip you with the tools and tips you need to run a successful National Heritage Week event.
Topics include:
Incorporating sustainability into your planning
Using social media to effectively promote your event
Reaching new audiences and expanding your impact
Crafting a compelling event listing for the National Heritage Week online portal
You’ll also have the chance to connect with Heritage Council staff and fellow organisers. It’s the perfect space to exchange ideas, find inspiration, and maybe even spark a new collaboration.

In-Person Training Day: Saturday 17th May (Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly) 10am - 4pm
Online Training Day: Wednesday 28th May (accessible from anywhere) 7pm - 9pm
