Drop the devices, get outdoors and become a heritage enthusiast this Wild Child Day

Laois Heritage K Ids Wildlife 09

One of the great things about National Heritage Week is that it gives the whole family a chance to get involved. This year, National Heritage Week is about getting as many people as possible to enjoy heritage and the message is ‘open the door to heritage’.

Wild Child Day will take place on Wednesday, 18th August and the Heritage Council is encouraging children and families to drop the devices, and get outdoors to explore heritage in their locality.

This is an opportunity to reach out to those young heritage enthusiasts and get them excited about reconnecting with the great outdoors and enjoying our outstanding natural treasures

Project organisers have embraced this message and in preparation for National Heritage Week, have been working to create projects showcasing ‘heritage for all ages’.

Whether you have a budding historian, a future artist, or an inspired archaeologist at home, there’s an event for all young heritage enthusiasts to enjoy.
