History Revealed through The Irish Language.

The event will explore the history and cultural heritage of Townlands in the ancient Parish of Barragh (now Kildavin) by examining the Irish language vocabulary used to name and describe these areas. No knowledge of Irish is required. The methodology explored can be applied to unlocking historical information about any place whose name derives from an Irish root.
