Curated by Donegal County Council’s Culture Division in partnership with the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies, discover the fascinating and often untold stories of Donegal emigrants who lived and worked in Scotland between 1940 and 1990.
Working Over By is a powerful exhibition exploring the working lives of men and women from Donegal through photographs, objects, audio recordings, and personal testimonies.
The exhibition highlights a wide range of experiences—from farm labour and shipbuilding to healthcare, hospitality, and religious life.
A listening station featuring interviews brings these voices to life.
Visitors are encouraged to share their own family stories through our “legacy wall” and enjoy a free commemorative booklet to take home.
