Wild Child Day Exploring Bugs, Flowers and a Fairy Lake

22 August, 2pm - 4pm

  • Dún na Sí Amenity and Heritage Park
  • Lake Road, Moate
  • N37 P271
  • Co. Westmeath

Come celebrate Wild Child Day at Dún na Sí, where we will be exploring the park's fairy lake. The lake is actually a turlough, a special kind of vanishing lake, that will be (mostly) dry on the day. We will be exploring the bugs and wildflowers in this unique habitat with the help of nets, hand lenses and bug jars.

Bring/wear wellies or shoes that can get wet, clothing suitable for the weather, and any bug jars, nets or magnifying glasses you may have.

Getting there: Meet outside the café in the amenity park. Parking is €2 for the day, or you can come by bicycle on the Old Rail Trail greenway.
