When the Lake Speaks: Heritage in Every Ripple

Supported by Westmeath Heritage and LAWPRO (Local Authority Waters Programme), you are invited to join us for;

Part 1 – This is a citizen science activity for children where the local LAWPRO team will demonstrate how to examine water to assess the health of Lough Sewdy.

This phase of the event takes place at the lakeside at Lough Sewdy, Fr. Dalton Park GAA Grounds, N91 EW83, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Assemble at 9.45am – 11am on Sunday 23rd August 2026.

Part 2 – This phase of the event will offer an insight into the early history / habitation of the area and events of Lough Sewdy down the generations.

Assemble at St. Owens Church, Church Lane, Ballymore at 11.30am on Sunday 23rd August 2026.

This is an outdoor off-road event on uneven ground, please dress appropriately.

Refreshments will be provided afterwards at St. Owens.
