As part of National Heritage Week (15th–23rd August), Independence Museum Kilmurry warmly invites visitors to view our special exhibition marking 10 years in our purpose-built home in the heart of the Lee Valley.
The exhibition builds on last year's Seasca Bliain display, which celebrated over 60 years of safeguarding a collection that includes revolutionary artefacts and other items of national interest, as well as the wider heritage of local rural life — a story that speaks directly to this year's national theme, Heritage at Risk. Without the dedication of generations of volunteers, much of what is on display today would have been lost forever.
Come explore the exhibitions, artefacts and stories that capture both the War of Irish Independence and the rich rural heritage of the Kilmurry and Lee Valley area — preserved and shared thanks to the dedication of our volunteers.
