Water is Life - An Organic Centre Event

“Water is life! Join ecologist Yosef for a water sampling workshop in the Ballagh River at The Organic Centre. Find out how you can play a role in protecting our most precious resource. This hands-on practical session will empower you with the ability to assess your local waterways. Find out how anyone can tell the health of their river by searching for what lies beneath the ripple. By catching and identifying fascinating macro-invertebrates (a type of insects) that live in all of our rivers, we can find out if our rivers are healthy. Learn about the biggest impacts on our rivers and what we can do to help! This session is for anyone eager to learn about our most valuable resource - water! With our changing climate, it is more important than ever to raise awareness and enable ourselves to protect our waterways.

Yosef is also the co-founder and Chair of Our Native Glens, an environmental group focused on creating, restoring and protecting habitats in the North Leitrim area.

Please note any children attending need to be accompanied by adults at all times.
Two separate time slots, 11am-12 and 1pm to 2pm.
