Wansboro Field Meadows – Biodiversity Monitoring Walk

Join meadow plant specialist Linda Gilsenan for a guided walk through the species-rich Wansboro Field Meadows.

Learn how to identify some of our native meadow plants and pollinators while taking part in a biodiversity monitoring walk. Participants will help record species while learning about meadow ecology, survey techniques and the importance of species-rich grasslands for biodiversity conservation.
No previous experience is necessary just an interest in nature and a willingness to explore one of Westmeath's valuable meadow habitats.
This is a citizen science event, providing participants with the opportunity to contribute valuable biodiversity records to Ireland's National Biodiversity Data Center while learning about the ecology and conservation of species-rich meadows.
