Walking Tour of Ballincollig Gunpowder Mills

- The start point will be at the entrance to the Gunpowder Mills, near Ballincollig GAA pitches. People can assemble nearby in the car park.

This is a Walking tour of Ballincollig Gunpowder Mills, one of the largest industrial sites in Cork in the 19th century, running along the banks of the River Lee. Guide, Tadhg O'Connor, will outline who built the gunpowder mills, how gunpowder was produced, the use of different buildings and canals, the working conditions and how explosions occurred. The walk will take about 2.5 hours.
