Voices of the Estuary - B reel
Voices of the Estuary is a community heritage project that aims to preserve the memories, traditions, stories and local knowledge of the people of Cheekpoint, Faithlegg and surrounding areas. The project focuses on the unique relationship between the local community and the River Suir estuary.
Through recorded interviews, our purpose is to capture the experiences and recollections of people whose lives have been shaped by the area, creating a valuable record for future generations. The interviews will become part of a community-led digital archive that will be stored at a national archive location, available locally and most importantly, preserves local heritage and memories.
Our Heritage Week event focuses on the B-reel - a short video of the landscape and landmarks that are the formation of the area and determine the ebb and flow of the people who live here.
