First constructed in 1539 by the "Ferocious O'Flahertys”, one of the tribes of Galway, Ross Castle is an elegant manor house nestling in a picturesque setting of mountains, lake, and 120 acres of parkland. It has been meticulously restored by the McLaughlin family over several decades.

Ross Castle is a member of Historic Houses of Ireland.

Ross Castle gardens and grounds are open every day during Heritage week from 10AM to 3PM.

There is no entry charge. However, a donation for Kimlea School for Girls in Kenya would be welcome.
