Unfolding the Foundation of Killeeneen's Medieval past
Galway Community Archaeologist Bernie Doherty will highlight how this Medieval church and graveyard inform us about our ancestors’ practices and beliefs. We explore our connections with the past which deserve appreciation and respect.
The oldest section of Killeeneen church dates back to the 12th/13th centuries while other features are from the 15th century. Bernie will highlight these features which are outlined in a recently prepared Conservation & Management Plan funded by the Heritage Council. They help us appreciate our tangible past.
