Walk on the the ancient MASS PATH in Ravensdale to a hidden mountain valley, awash with heather and bog cotton. Visit the SWEAT HOUSES, the ancient saunas of yesteryear and the BRONZE AGE SETTLEMENT of Lisnachiggle. See the ancient corn fields, BOOLEY HUTS and lazy beds, and hear how life was lived from 4000BC to the present day. Listen to stories of An Tain, and how the POC FADA of the mighty Cu Chullain is celebrated annually on these very hills. A truly off-the beaten-track experience!

DETAILS; The pace of the walk is gentle, but uphill at the beginning. Some experience of hill walking and a fair fitness level is necessary. Walking poles are advantageous. Stout walking boots, raingear , water and suncream are advisable. No jeans and regrettably no dogs. Bring a snack.
Please inform the leader if you have a condition which may impede mobility (ie heart condition / vertigo etc)
