
Tours of Burtown House, Co. Kildare
In association with Historic Houses of Ireland Burtown House is an early Georgian villa located near Athy, Co. Kildare and is surrounded by lush flower, vegetable and woodland gardens with beautiful park and farmland walks. Built in the 1720s, Burtown House is surrounded by two hundred acres of parkland, including ten acres of lush flower, vegetable and woodland gardens with many fine walks. The walled kitchen garden has been in production for over 150 years. It is also home to the renowned Green Barn restaurant.
House tours generally cover the history of Burtown, its interiors and inhabitants, the Quakers, the surrounding landscape, its history and the nearby Quaker village of Ballytore.
Burtown House is a proud member of Historic Houses of Ireland.
Tours on the hour. Last tour at 1 pm.
